Makers, Shakers, and Boundary Breakers: Blending Curriculum & Creativity through Arts Integration
February 18, 2017
CALL FOR PRESENTATION PROPOSALS
Mark your calendars now for the UMBC Education Department’s 11th annual arts integration conference, Makers, Shakers, and Boundary Breakers: Blending Curriculum and Creativity through Arts Integration. The conference will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:00-3:00 on the UMBC campus.
Conference participants will explore how the visual and performing arts can spark creativity in P-12 classrooms through arts integration. Many of this year’s sessions will focus on maintaining the “A” in STEAM, introducing the maker movement to young children, and shaking up the arts experience in classroom, after-school, and agency or organization-based programs. Other sessions will serve as a general introduction and reinforcement of arts integration. The conference format includes hands-on workshops, a poster session, speakers, performance, breakfast refreshments & lunch and, as always, great door prizes.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Do you have a curriculum, program, or project to share? We are currently accepting workshop and poster session proposals from teachers, artists, and community educators. P-12 student involvement in presentations is welcome. Please contact Barbara Bourne at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
