Graduate Research Assistant Position

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, BALTIMORE COUNTY, Department of Education invites applications for one graduate research assistant position starting January 2025. A full-time graduate assistant works twenty hours a week for the department. Graduate assistants register for a minimum of nine credits of course work or thesis research each semester and may take up to ten credit hours each fall or spring with full tuition remission. Tuition remission is not available for summer and winter classes.

Professional Development Schools (PDS) Placement Coordinator

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking a PDS Placement Coordinator for the Department of Education. The incumbent will work with the Program Coordinators, Professional Development Schools (PDS), school system personnel and the Director of Field Experience and Clinical Practice (DFECP) to place interns and field placement students at approved sites prior to the start of each semester, support candidates in the field during the semester, and support PDS administration throughout the year.

Assistant Professor Secondary Education Generalist

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Department of Education invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Secondary Social Studies or English Language Arts/Literacy Education. Primary responsibilities of this position include 1) teaching pre-service secondary education courses to undergraduates and graduates; 2) maintaining an active research and publication agenda; 3) providing service to the community, department, university, and profession, and 4) mentoring a diverse population of students. Our new colleague will demonstrate a commitment to and experience in fostering justice through equity-focused research and/or teaching. The successful candidate should also exhibit the desire and ability to thrive and grow in a diverse, collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
